Details

Presenting a specially made for Royalty 1966 Vanden Plas Princess Limousine that was ordered by the Crown Agents in preparation for the arrival of Queen Elizabeth II in Jamacia in 1966 and manufactured in 1965 by Vanden Plas Works in Kingsbury, London. After the Queen's visit, the car remained in Jamacia with the Governor, General Sir Clifford Campbell to be used as his official State limousine for any subsequent royal visits. Finished in black and gray it was restored by advanced vintage British motor car experts and is powered by the original 6-cylinder Austin engine with a new Ford carburetor coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission with one of the speeds being for parades. Equipped with air conditioning with front and rear controls, power steering, new brakes, new wiring, electric fuel pump and the electrical was changed from 6-Volt to 12-Volt. This self-jacking car also features a removable hardtop over royal seating, all new leather, all new chrome both inside and out, refinished wood, original gauges and a sliding partition from the driver. There were 10 custom built cars for the Queen. The Royal Mew retained 9 of the cars. This Princess is the 10th car and last custom-built vehicle now available to the public. It includes a copy of the British Motor Industries Heritage Trust production trace certificate, a letter from Buckingham Palace, the Build Sheet and the Bill of Lading from Jamaica to the United States. **TITLED AS A 1966 AUST**
