This 2012 Lexus LFA (Lot #749) sold for $440,000 at the 2020 Fall Auction, setting a new record in the process.
The 2020 Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction is in the history books, and what an event it was! Among the diverse docket of cars, offerings bearing the emblems of Fall Auction Presenting Sponsors Toyota and Lexus were well-represented on the block. In fact, some of the most popular cars of the auction belonged to the famed marques. “We couldn’t be more honored that Toyota and Lexus joined us as the Presenting Sponsors of our Fall Auction in Scottsdale,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. In addition to highlighting the all-new Toyota Venza and Lexus IS at the special fall event, Toyota sponsored the Fall Auction live stream, broadcasting the automobilia auction and all the auction cars, all the time.
Toyota Land Cruisers – Like this 1984 FJ45 – were well-represented on the block during the 2020 Fall Auction.
When the final gavel fell, Toyota and Lexus vehicles had set four new auction world records, with Toyota’s flagship off-roader, the globe-trotting Land Cruiser, setting the benchmark for the brand. Five of the 10 top-selling Toyotas and three record-setters were all from the Land Cruiser family. One of the record auction sales belonged to Lexus’ preeminent supercar, the V10-powered LFA. The carbon-fiber supercar took the stage on Saturday, setting a new record for a non-Nürburgring Edition 2012 model when it sold for $440,000. Other top Toyota sellers included two of the marque’s legendary MKIV Supras. The two JDM icons – one a 1997 Anniversary Edition and the other a 1993 Premiere Edition – kept with market trends, wowing the crowd when they sold for $91,300 and $68,200 respectively. A winning bid of $36,300 took home a 1980 model of a classic on the rise, the Toyota SR5 pickup.
