WITH CRAIG JACKSON AT THE HELM, BARRETT-JACKSON IS CELEBRATING 49 SUCCESSFUL YEARS IN THE COLLECTOR CAR HOBBY. CRAIG IS ALSO AN AVID CAR COLLECTOR, AWARD-WINNING RESTORER AND RACING ENTHUSIAST.
We’re very grateful that you’re joining us in this virtual way for our second online auction this year. Our Online Only May Auction had an impressive response from bidders and consignors alike. That “boutique” auction with a limited number of carefully selected collector vehicles had a docket that reflected the diversity for which Barrett-Jackson is known.
It was exciting to see bidding take off on the very first day of the auction, with the very first offering – a 2010 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak Race Car – hitting its Reserve within hours, and setting a new auction record to boot with its $61,600 sale price. Another record was set with the sale of a 1984 Dodge Daytona – a true sign of the times, with cars from the ’80s and ’90s becoming increasingly appealing to collectors as time passes.
It was great having NASCAR team owner Richard Childress join us to watch the bidding on the No. 3 Dale Earnhardt-driven NASCAR race car he donated to raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts.
The May Online Auction even had its share of “bidding wars,” particularly for our two top sellers: a stunning custom 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window built by Jeff Hayes Customs that sold for $357,500 and a custom all-steel 1941 Lincoln Zephyr that brought a final price of $203,500. It was exciting to see the bidding go right down to the wire for those!
A definite highlight, though, was selling the No. 3 Dale Earnhardt-driven NASCAR race car for $425,000 to benefit COVID-19 relief efforts – and having the great NASCAR team owner Richard Childress, who donated the car, with us via live stream to talk about the historical race car and watch the bidding as it happened.
Among the stars of our July Online Auction is this 2018 Ford GT – the first time in history a 2018 model will be offered at auction.
Now we’ve got another impressive lineup of meticulously chosen collector cars and automobilia ready for our July event, headlined by a fantastic 2018 Ford GT in black with Alloy striping – the first time in history this model year has been offered at auction. The entire offering will feature stellar collectibles representing seven decades of the automobile, including great Ferraris and Shelbys, a selection of outstanding Resto-Mods, a beautifully restored Olds 442 W-30 convertible and even a special custom motorcycle.
As you flip through our digital catalog or look over our online docket, I invite you to register to bid – and should you have any questions about any of the vehicles or online auction process, our team is ready to help.
While we very much look forward to the day we can gather again in person to share our passion for collector cars, we’re confident this virtual Barrett-Jackson experience captures the spirit of the hobby we all know and love.
