More and more car collectors are driving and enjoying their collectible vehicles these days, with vintage car road rallies attracting an increasing number of participants. One of the premier rallies in North America is the Arizona-based Copperstate 1000, created by the Men’s Arts Council (MAC) in 1990 as a fundraiser for the Phoenix Art Museum, which has served as the cornerstone of Phoenix’s art and cultural community since 1959.

The annual event celebrates the automotive cultural legacy by featuring some of the finest working examples of vintage, sports, racing, classic and grand touring automobiles manufactured before the 1974 model year.

Each year, after a kickoff car show held at Tempe Diablo Stadium, approximately 80 qualifying vehicles take to the scenic highways of Arizona for four days and 1,000 miles, crossing beautiful desert terrains, verdant river valleys, stunning red rock country and alpine landscapes through the state and beyond.

Barrett-Jackson was honored to sponsor and be a participant in the 2019 Copperstate 1000, which saw Carolyn and Craig Jackson pilot a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB “Daytona” to the snow-dusted peaks near Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon, the red rocks of Sedona, the old railway town of Winslow and the picturesque mining towns of Bagdad and Jerome.

We are also excited that the Copperstate 1000 beneficiary, the Phoenix Art Museum, will be bringing the “Art of Racing” to Phoenix from November 2019 through March 2020. “Legends of Speed” – the first major exhibition of racing cars ever presented at the museum – will feature more than 20 legendary cars by Maserati, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, Ford and more.

We hope you enjoy the video below with some highlights of this year’s Copperstate 1000!
