More than 250 of the 2,000-plus pieces of authentic automobilia were auctioned during the second day of the 2017 Scottsdale Auction.
Collector car enthusiasts headed to WestWorld of Scottsdale today for the second day of the 46th annual Barrett-Jackson event, where the more than 1,700 auction cars were ready to be previewed – including Justin Bieber’s Frozen Blue Ferrari (Lot #1372). The singer/songwriter’s car arrived on-site late Saturday to take its place next to Steven Tyler’s Hennessey Venom GT Spyder (Lot #3003) in the Salon Collection area, where both sleek supercars attracted a lot of attention.
The Automobilia Auction saw its second day of action in the arena, with more than 250 pristine pieces of the past making their way across the auction block. Signs were big sellers today, with a 1950 Delco Batteries tin automotive garage sign with neon taking top honors. Gas pumps, too, showed strong sales – among them a stylish 1948 Gilmore Oil Bowser model 585 restored service station gas pump. One piece that caught the eye of the crowd and ended up a top seller was a 4-way light-up stop sign from the 1940s – the only one Barrett-Jackson has ever offered.
Visitors to today’s event also were treated to a second day of exciting Arena Polo, with highlights including the U.S. beating England 15 to 13 in the International Collegiate Challenge Cup, and the Sherman Cup Final, in which Pathlight Investors edged out Rancho Naranjo 11-10.
Enjoy the gallery below of highlights from today’s activities from around the auction site – and get ready for more action in the days ahead, with the first day of the collector car auction starting tomorrow!
