Once again, Barrett-Jackson’s bidders and consignors showed what big hearts those in the collector car community have. A total of five vehicles rolled across the block during the 3rd Annual Hot August Nights Auction presented by Barrett-Jackson. A total of $417,000 was raised, every penny of which goes directly to the charitable organizations. To date, Barrett-Jackson has raised more than $84 million for worthy local and national charities.
A 1957 Willys Jeep (Lot #3000) was the first to cross the block for charity, bringing in $50,000 for the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation’s “Marines to the Mountains” program dedicated to bring Marines injured in service to Squaw Valley for a once-in-a-lifetime skiing experience.
With the help of Tara Conner, Miss USA 2006, a 1970 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40 (Lot #3000.1) cruised away for $20,000 to benefit Transforming Youth Recovery. Created in 2013 by the Stacie Mathewson Foundation in Reno, Transforming Youth Recovery supports educators, parents and community members in helping students recovering from addiction thrive in the fullness of everyday life.
A 1965 Comet Caliente (Lot #3001) donated by Barrett-Jackson content partner Craftsman brought much-needed funds to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which provides funds for a post-secondary education to the surviving children of U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations troops killed in the line of duty.
The auction of this 2014 Victory Cross Country 8-Ball Custom Motorcycle (Lot #3002) raised $122,000 for Ride 2 Recovery, which supports Spinning Recovery Labs and outdoor cycling programs at military and VA locations around the U.S. to help injured veterans overcome obstacles they face. This 2014 Bennington 2575 QCW 10 Luxury Boat (Lot #3003, pictured at bottom) and Sport Boat Trailer brought $125,000 directly to The Foundation for Exceptional Warriors (FEW), which is dedicated to helping those that sacrificed the most during the chaos of war and provides cost-free recreational opportunities where those that served together can heal together.
