A Barrett-Jackson Auction uncorks a variety of emotions. As attendees go through the event there’s the excitement of the bidding, a state of awe at the quality of the cars, and the warm camaraderie of seeing old friends and making new ones.
But for unforgettable chills down the spine and heartfelt emotion, it’s hard to beat the charity sales that have always been such a big part of the Barrett-Jackson experience. The stories behind the donated cars and the objectives of the charitable organizations bring out the best in people, and the charity auctions are a highlight for the entire Barrett-Jackson team. Thanks to the generosity of the collector car community, Barrett-Jackson has raised more than $135 million for charitable causes over its first 50 years.
The winning bidders know they are making maximum impact, as 100 percent of the hammer price goes to the charitable organization, with all auction fees waived. For the 2022 Scottsdale Auction there is a great roster of worthy charities to support, and donated cars that represent both the automotive cutting edge as well as classic style and performance.

On the technological cutting-edge front, GRAMMY Award-winning artist Pitbull will accompany a custom 2022 Karma GS-6 EV “305 Edition” as it crosses the world-famous auction block to benefit The SLAM Foundation and Selfless Love Foundation – two charities focused on bettering the lives of underserved youth. With 536 horsepower, a 360-mile range and personal touches courtesy of Pitbull, it is one of the most customized and unique vehicles California-based Karma has ever built.

Barrett-Jackson has a long history of auctioning first-in-series vehicles for charity, and Toyota will help that tradition continue by offering the first two Tundras equipped with the new i-FORCE MAX 3.5-liter Twin-Turbo V6 hybrid engine. VIN 001 will be a loaded 4×4 CrewMax with some secrets to be revealed closer to the auction, while VIN 002 will be a TRD Pro CrewMax with “technical camo” exterior and interior accents. These trucks will be the first two Toyota hybrid pickups to be sold in North America, and the sales will benefit the Toyota U.S. Paralympic Fund.
Lot #3006 – 2022 Ford Shelby GT500KR First Production. 100% of hammer price to benefit Carroll Shelby foundation and JDRF. Will be sold at approximately 8:30 p.m. MST on Friday, January 28, 2022.
Also joining the first-in-series club at Scottsdale will be the first production version of the new Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang the company is releasing to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2022. Available on 2020-2022 Shelby GT500 Mustangs through Shelby American, the new “King of the Road” package will boast 900+ horsepower, dry carbon fiber hood, new wheels, tires, suspension tuning and more. Only 180 total (60 per model year) will be available in the U.S. with another 45 overseas. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF).
Lot #3002 – 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C CSX 6086. 100% of hammer price to benefit Mayo Clinic. Will be sold at approximately 6:30 p.m. MST on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
Carroll Shelby, of course, was deeply involved in charities he founded, and we think he’d appreciate watching the 1965 Shelby Cobra S/C CSX 6086 that will cross the block in Scottsdale to benefit the Mayo Clinic. The winning bidder will not only be supporting a great cause but will receive the keys to a true thrill ride thanks to the Cobra’s Shelby Engine Company 482ci V8 built by Yates, rated at 540 horsepower.
Lot #3004 – 1973 DE Tomaso Pantera. 100% of hammer price to benefit the Barrow Neurological Foundation. Will be sold at approximately 3:30 p.m. MST on Friday, January 28th , 2022.
The De Tomaso Pantera was an absolute standout on the streets in the 1970s, and a 1973 Pantera will likewise turn every head when it crosses the auction block in Scottsdale. Powered by a hot 351 cubic-inch Windsor V8 topped with ported and polished Yates aluminum cylinder heads, its estimated 665 horsepower will make every drive a memorable experience. The entire hammer price goes to benefit the Barrow Neurological Foundation.
Ford’s Mustang has long proven itself to be one of the most popular platforms for customization, and the 1968 Ford Mustang Custom Resto-Mod that will be auctioned to benefit the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) Foundation in Canada illustrates why. Unveiled at the 2021 SEMA Show, this Mustang is powered by a 535-horsepower Ford Racing 427 cubic-inch V8 and a long list of performance parts. Noted Canadian stage and screen actor Kim Coates (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Bad Blood,” “Blackhawk Down”) is serving as the Project Ambassador, along with the support of numerous corporate sponsors and NHL players.
Actor and race car driver James Garner knew a thing or two about performance cars, so it should be no surprise he selected a 2009 Cadillac CTS as his personal ride, personalized with “JG” on the driver’s door and MAVROCK license plates. The late actor’s Cadillac will be auctioned off to support the James Garner Animal Rescue Fund.
Corvette collectors eagerly wait to see each new model of America’s supercar, and the first retail production 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will not disappoint. Powered by the all-new 5.5-liter LT6 — the highest-horsepower natural aspirated V8 to hit the market in any production car, ever — and available in 12 exterior and seven interior colors with seven wheel packages, is the most bespoke Corvette yet. Among the many striking new features are larger wheels and air intakes, a unique rear fascia with centered floating exhaust bezels, available carbon-fiber interior trim and an available carbon-fiber-wrapped steering wheel. One hundred percent of the hammer price will benefit Operation Homefront.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Scottsdale this January to cheer on or bid on these amazing vehicles as we celebrate 50 years of The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions. The heart of Barrett-Jackson lives on with each charitable moment experienced on and off the block.
