One of the most heartwarming experiences is watching a child’s face light up when they see a supercar. More so, seeing the smiles it brings them and their families when they can get in and go for a ride. By hosting the Driven Project at the 2022 Las Vegas Auction, Barrett-Jackson was able to provide “supercar therapy” to 11 incredible children battling critical illnesses.

BJA_8643Each of the Very Important Passengers (VIPs) embarked on a supercar adventure that began by crossing Barrett-Jackson’s world-famous auction block in the passenger seat of a supercar. The children received a one-of-a-kind hero’s welcome as they were introduced to the audience by longtime Barrett-Jackson television personality Rick DeBruhl.

Following the excitement on stage, the VIPs enjoyed a police-escorted cruise down Las Vegas Boulevard riding in everything from Lamborghinis, Ferraris and McLarens before returning to the West Hall for a day of family fun at the auction.

“Supercars represent what so many children dream of. To see the smiles and excitement these cars brought to the children and their families was touching,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We are proud to have once again shared our stage with the Driven Project and more exceptional young children and their families as a way to honor our core value of giving where and when it is needed.”

BJA_8731Founded in 2018 by Kevin Gordon in Vancouver, Canada, the Driven Project is a nonprofit organization with one goal: to provide “supercar therapy” to children battling severe life illnesses and challenges. Some of the participants deal with cerebral palsy, kidney failure and stage four cancers.

By teaming up with local organizations and supercar owners, the Driven Project provides these amazing children with an adrenaline-filled escape that helps them forget about their everyday challenges for a moment while they create memories they will cherish forever.

_“_It is a privilege to have the opportunity to provide this unique experience for these children and their families,” said Carolyn Jackson, Chief Philanthropy Officer and Vice President of Brand Strategy for Barrett-Jackson. “Barrett-Jackson was founded on the principle of giving back to those in need. Their smiles, the excitement on their faces when they come to Barrett-Jackson and ride along in these supercars is what this initiative is all about.”

BJA_8773Carolyn and Craig Jackson first became aware of the Driven Project in 2021 while attending Cody Walker’s FuelFest in Phoenix. Following the event, Barrett-Jackson coordinated with the Driven Project to kick off the 50th anniversary celebration during the 2022 Scottsdale Auction.

The auction company’s team is profoundly touched each time Barrett-Jackson provides a platform for the extraordinary endeavor. Barrett-Jackson is proud and honored to make a difference in the lives of the participants and looks forward to hosting more children and their families at future events.
