Connecticut, here we come! If you’ve never been to a Barrett-Jackson auction before, you understandably might have some questions about how things work. Below are some common questions. Additional information can be found on Barrett-Jackson.com, or email [email protected].
Where and when is the auction?
The auction will be held at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, from June 23-25, 2016. There will be a Preview Day and Opening Night Gala on June 22 for credentialed bidders and consignors only. Click HERE for a complete schedule of events.
What is the Opening Night Gala?
The famed Barrett-Jackson Opening Night Gala is a party like no other! It is held the evening before the auction starts and is a way of saying “thank you” to our bidders, sponsors and consignors. Once your registration is complete, you will receive an invitation to the celebration, which features live music, dancing and gourmet cuisine. It is a chance to unwind, have fun and form friendships that often last for years.
How do I get to the auction and where do I stay?
Mohegan Sun is easy to get to from many cities in the Northeast by car, train, ferry – and even helicopter. Two international airports (Bradley in Hartford and T.F. Green in Providence) are nearby for those coming from more of a distance; JFK and LaGuardia in New York are a little more than a two-hour drive away. (If you are a Barrett-Jackson bidder or consignor and need help with hotel reservations, contact your bidder representative or consignment specialist for assistance.)
Among the cars in the spotlight at the Inaugural Northeast Auction will be this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air .
What access will my general admission ticket allow?
Your ticket will give you access to the entire auction site (with the exception of the auction block and the bidders-only seating area), where you can see the collector cars on display before they go up for auction, shop and check out the interactive displays in the vast Exhibitor Marketplace, pick up your official Barrett-Jackson merchandise, test drive new vehicles and experience a heart-stopping spin around a course with professional drivers at the Ride ’N Drives/Thrill Rides, and of course watch the exciting action in the auction arena as hundreds of authentic pieces of automobilia (automotive-related memorabilia) and sought-after collector cars cross the block. Tickets can be purchased HERE or at the auction entrance.
You’ll see a good selection of exotic sports cars at the Northeast Auction, like this 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S.
Where do I park and what does it cost?
Parking is free and will be available in several parking garages at Mohegan Sun, as well as satellite locations (with free shuttle service provided).
Can I bring a backpack into the event?
Yes. But like at most major sporting events, security officers will be checking bags at the entrance. Only one sealed bottle of water (under 17 oz.) will be allowed. Other beverages, food, video cameras, skateboards, drones, coolers and animals (with the exception of service animals) are among the prohibited items.
What time does the event end each day?
When the last car crosses the auction block is the easy answer. That usually occurs at around 8 or 9 p.m., but it varies depending on how many cars are on the docket each day.
How do I bid on a car?
You must be a registered bidder to bid on a car. You can register to become a bidder on-site or in advance – you don’t even need to be present to bid! Click HERE for all the details on how to become a bidder.
