Both veterans and active-duty military often have pride of place on the Barrett-Jackson stage.

Both veterans and active-duty military often have pride of place on the Barrett-Jackson stage.

Many Barrett-Jackson fans know about the millions of dollars raised at auctions over the years for veterans and active-duty military through the sale of charity vehicles. Military-related nonprofit organizations like the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Armed Forces Foundation and many more have been the beneficiaries of 100 percent of the hammer price from the auction of some incredible cars.

Another, perhaps lesser-known, way Barrett-Jackson gives back to those who have served or are still serving is by teaming up with the Veterans Tickets Foundation, also known as Vet Tix. Since 2014, Barrett-Jackson has donated more than $250,000 worth of free tickets to its auctions around the country for use by active-duty military, veterans and their families. The response has been touching and overwhelming.

“Thank you for the tickets to the Barrett-Jackson auction,” said one vet, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2004 to 2009. “I was able to take my father-in-law and we had a great time. Since I’ve been out of the service it has been a struggle and he has helped out my family tremendously, so I was able to treat him.”

A U.S. Army vet who served from 1969 to 1971 also expressed his appreciation. “Our heartfelt thank you,” he said. “As an infantryman in Vietnam, it is especially gratifying to be remembered.”

Tickets are either directly distributed to military bases, or currently serving military and honorably discharged veterans from all branches of service – as well as the families of those killed in action – can create an account on VetTix.org. Once service status is verified, “Vet-Tixers,” as they’re called, can claim tickets through the Vet Tix website.

Through Vet Tix, Barrett-Jackson is proud to provide a gift of gratitude to those who have given so much for our country.
