LOT #758 – 1968 FORD MUSTANG ELEANOR TRIBUTE EDITION – NO RESERVE
Resto-Mods are an enormous segment in the collector car market — and it’s easy to understand why. A Resto-Mod is a vehicle that has been restored and modified to a certain degree, taking the best of modern performance and the classic world. Adding updated performance to a classic vehicle breathes new life into it — it can become safer and more enjoyable to drive, providing occupants with modern amenities without sacrificing any of the classic stylings we all know and love.
Resto-Mods come in all shapes and sizes. Everything from a classic Chevrolet Bel Air to a Ford Mustang or Volkswagen bus and even a pickup truck can be a Resto-Mod. The Resto-Mod movement has also helped spark other segments such as the Pro-Touring and the budding Electro-Mod movements. These have adopted many of the same Resto-Mod principles, such as preserving the vehicle’s classic styling while upgrading it with modern performance components.
The difference between a Resto-Mod and a Pro-Touring build is that the latter often goes a step further than a Resto-Mod. It’s usually track-ready, performs better than it did from the factory and meets or exceeds modern-day performance vehicle standards regarding suspension, steering and brakes, among other things. On the other hand, an Electro-Mod has had its power plant replaced with batteries and electric motors, making it an electric vehicle.
Take a look at some of the beautiful Resto-Mods slated to cross the 2022 Houston Auction block with No Reserve, October 20-22 at NRG Center.
