There was a little something for everyone at the 3rd Annual Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction today, whether buyers were looking for a vintage gas pump to add some pizzazz to their place of business or that perfect dream car to park in their garage.

Car enthusiasts streamed into Mohegan Sun to enjoy the second day of the event, which is the first major happening in the brand-new Expo Center. With so much of the auction now under 200,000 square feet or so of covered space, visitors knew they were in for a great experience, rain or shine.

After yesterday’s Family Value/Preview Day and another spectacular Opening Night Gala to kick things off last night, auction-goers were ready to hear that distinctive chant from the auctioneers as pristine automobilia items and collectible vehicles made their way across the auction block.

Kevin Brown, Chairman of the Mohegan Tribal Council, presented Barrett-Jackson CEO Craig Jackson with a traditional gourd ladle hand-crafted by Mohegan tribal member R.J. Steppenwolf.

Kevin Brown, Chairman of the Mohegan Tribal Council, welcomed guests to today’s event, which began with more than 100 automobilia items in the spotlight. Beautifully restored gas pumps, a giant Big Boy Drive-In sign, a huge Pennzoil light-up automotive garage sign and a Texaco Oil service station sign were among the items catching the attention of bidders today.

The first 200 or so of more than 600 collector cars began to roll across the block as well, ranging from a 1926 Ford Model T to a 2017 Dodge Challenger R/T Coupe. Among the top sellers today were a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Re-creation (Lot #97), a 1958 DeSoto Firedome (Lot #82) and a 1932 Ford 5-Window Custom Coupe (Lot #74).

Get ready for a fantastic Friday tomorrow as the first two charity cars and some fine examples of collectible cool take their turn on the auction block!
