2022 LAS VEGAS AUCTION – 1970 PLYMOUTH SUPERBIRD – $1,650,000Plymouth was first established in 1928, and its name carries a lot of weight almost 100 years later. Plymouths initially were priced higher than vehicles made by their competitors, Ford and Chevrolet, but offered standard features like internal expanding hydraulic brakes that the other companies simply could not provide. In turn, Plymouth grew in size and demand, and eventually the coveted ’Cuda and Superbird were released. The 1970 Plymouth Superbird completely took over NASCAR (winning an incredible 18 races), and only stopped when it was banned from the track due to functionality risk reasons. Simply put: It was just too darn fast. Similarly, the HEMI ’Cuda was in production for a limited amount of time ‒ with only hundreds ever built.

Combining a devilish amount of speed, history and scarcity, it’s no wonder these iconic vehicles developed a world-class following. Check out these top Plymouths that have crossed the Barrett-Jackson auction block over the years.
