Many of the world’s most coveted customs, muscle cars and hot rods have crossed the Barrett-Jackson block. But there’s more to the World’s Greatest Collector Car Auction than just great collector cars – we’re also a team of caring people with big hearts. Last week’s Reno-Tahoe Hot August Nights auction was the perfect example.

Three-year-old Ella Marini was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, a disorder that paralyzed her from the neck down. But thanks to the support of Barrett-Jackson, Ford Motor Company and The Darrell Gwynn Foundation, Ella now has her own set of wheels.

On Saturday, Barrett-Jackson auctioned a 2014 Ford Transit Connect, which was donated by Ford Motor Company, to benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation.
The van will be modified to be wheelchair accessible by Mobility Works.
Earlier in the day, The Darrell Gwynn Foundation presented Ella with a power wheelchair adorned with her favorite characters from her favorite Disney movie, “Frozen”.

Tom and Diane Day, who bought the Ford Transit Connect with the mobility conversion for $100,000 said, “It’s for the kids, that’s all…children are important to everyone.”
