According to Nielsen, internet users spend more time on social media sites than on any other type of site. In just one year – from July 2011 to July 2012 – the total time spent on social media sites in the U.S. increased by 99 percent to 121 billion minutes.
Barrett-Jackson, known for being on the forefront of technology, established a social media presence early on. It was a perfect fit for the company, where things move fast ‒ and not just at our four auctions across the country each year. In between, we’re busy travelling around the United States to interact with the car community, attend charity functions and automotive events, and bring exciting new vehicles into our Scottsdale showroom.
One of the best ways to keep up with all that’s happening in the fast-paced world of Barrett-Jackson is through our social media platforms, most notably Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
When you’re looking for real-time highlights of cars, celebrities and action during auction, Facebook is a favorite – our fan base numbers more than 322,000 at last count. Here, you’ll also find out our latest news, auction results, trivia, facts, quizzes, links to interesting articles and timely press releases – and be among the first to find out about auction dates, ticket sales and special deals on merchandise. This is also the platform where you’ll be able to catch some exciting videos. One of the most popular has been “No Reserve Drifting,” where World Champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. pilots his 2017 Ford Mustang RTR through harrowing hairpin turns and calculated donuts throughout our huge Scottsdale auction site – which was viewed nearly 400,000 times!
You’ll find Barrett-Jackson in the Twitterverse, too (@barrett_jackson) – with plenty of car info, news, short videos and fast-paced interaction with our fans as well as Velocity/Discovery talent, charities and celebrities who attend our auctions. Rocker Steven Tyler had lots to tweet about before and during the 2017 Scottsdale Auction when he brought his incredible 2012 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder to the block for charity, which brought in $800,000 to benefit Janie’s Fund. Before the 2017 Palm Beach Auction, NFL wide receiver Reggie Wayne was rapidly tweeting about his 1967 Ford Mustang GT Custom Fastback set to cross the block – and ramped up his tweets even more when it sold for $206,800.
If stunning and creative photography is what you crave, then you’ll want to follow Barrett-Jackson on Instagram (@barrett_jackson). This is our fastest-growing social media platform, with nearly 150,000 followers eager to see up-to-the-minute photos and short videos from the auction block and behind the scenes.
Barrett-Jackson’s social media platforms are also a great way to stay in touch with us – ask questions, give feedback or just generally let us know what’s on your mind. We always look forward to hearing from other people who are as just as passionate about cars as we are.

Beyond The Block App Puts Barrett-Jackson in the Palm of Your Hand
While you’ve got your mobile device out to interact with us on social media, make sure you download the versatile Beyond The Block app – a useful tool whether you’re on-site at the auction or sitting in the comfort of your home.
With buttons to take you directly to the Live Stream, the docket and event information; a space to save your favorite cars; and quick links to the site map as well as official gifts and apparel, the app is an upgrade available to everyone.
One of the most convenient features of Beyond The Block is the “Docket” button. You can scroll through all of the Lot numbers and, after selecting a car to see more information (such as additional photos and the full description), the location of the car at the auction site is revealed.
A very popular item among users of the app is the “Wanted” button. Select the “star” from the docket list of a car you’re interested in and a pop-up allows you to mark it so you will be notified when it is heading to the auction block and then let you know what the vehicle’s final price was.
Beyond The Block can also help you research past sales at Barrett-Jackson with the “Archive” button.
Download the app today from Google Play or the App Store.
