This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro custom convertible is selling with No Reserve at the 2022 Las Vegas Auction.

Inspiration for the name “Camaro” was said to be derived from Heath’s French and English Dictionary as a term that translates to “friend” or “comrade.”

Of course, Chevrolet president, Pete Estes, said at the time that its name was “lithe and graceful…in keeping with our other car names beginning with ‘C.’ It suggests comradeship of good friends, as a personal car should be to its owner.”

Shortly after, reporters asked other GM Executives about the name and were told it was literally made up to mean “a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs.”

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible has been given the full Pro-Touring treatment from the front to rear and embraces all those definitions.

Under the hood lives a supercharged 6.2-liter GM LT4 V8 crate engine which has been further customized with ported and polished heads. The powerful engine is backed by a GM 8-speed automatic transmission equipped with an upgraded torque converter.

The engine features a Concept One billet front-drive system with blower reduction pulley, Speartech LSA custom harness, Holley oil pan conversion, and C&R Racing aluminum heat exchanger.

An AFCO aluminum radiator with custom-built aluminum shroud and fans works to keep the engine cool.

Fuel is sent from a Ricks Tanks custom stainless fuel tank and pump to the engine thanks to a VaporWorx fuel system. Exhaust is then released from the engine by way of a custom-built 3-inch stainless exhaust system with a rear valance exit and MagnaFlow mufflers.

From the transmission, power is sent down the driveshaft to a Moser Engineering chromoly 9-inch rear end housing featuring an aluminum center section with 3.70:1 ratio posi-traction differential.

This custom convertible receives its stance from utilizing a TCI front subframe with single adjustment coilover shocks, and TCI 4-link rear suspension with single-adjustable coilover shocks. A sway bar helps keep it planted to the ground with minimal body roll.

Wilwood 6-piston calipers coupled with 15-inch drilled and slotted rotors with a Wilwood billet master cylinder provide the stopping power.

The body of this convertible Camaro and its chassis are finished in glossy Silver Spruce with a matte Silver Spruce firewall and underside which has been painted by Sweet Rides in Magnolia, TX.

With all of this riding on Schott S7 billet 19-inch wheels, this custom is ready for the road.

Unique features on the body of this Pro-Touring Camaro include billet SS hood louvers, a RainGear hidden wiper system, billet driving lights, LED reverse lights in the rear bumper and a Retro-Electro electronic headlight door system.

Inside, this Camaro features custom leather which is complemented by the billet door handles and billet steering wheel. Looking past the steering wheel to the instruments, the driver can monitor the Camaro’s vitals with a set of Dakota Digital gauges.

The driver and passengers are kept comfortable with a Vintage Air climate system complete with billet controller and vents. Lastly, this Camaro features Nu-Relics power windows and a stereo system with Bluetooth.

This road-ready Pro-Touring 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible will be offered with No Reserve at the 2022 Las Vegas Auction, held June 30 to July 2 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
