THE 2019 NORTHEAST AUCTION BEGINS: Shell Family Day kicks off with a preview of what’s to come

The much-anticipated 4th Annual Northeast Auction at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut opened its doors Wednesday, showcasing the automotive lifestyle at its best – with a special focus on families. Kids high-school age and younger were admitted free to enjoy the multitude of family-friendly activities – Ford Hot Laps, Dodge Thrill Rides, car simulators, interactive exhibits, radio-controlled vehicles, displays of auction cars and the new TechForce STEM Center, presented by Shell and powered by Pennzoil. Featuring Flat 12 Gallery and the STEM education department from the Charlotte Motor Speedway, the hands-on exhibition will continue through Saturday, June 29, providing hands-on activities that enable students to experience automotive technology, understand the applicability of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in the automotive world and explore industry career paths.
Opening day also provided prospective buyers and car enthusiasts to preview the hundreds of collector cars that will begin to cross the auction block on Thursday. With many sellers on hand with their vehicles, Preview Day offered the perfect opportunity for interested individuals to ask questions and get an up-close look at the cars of their dreams before they have their moment in the spotlight.
The evening’s glittery Opening Night Gala – a flashback to the ʼ80s with the band Rubix Kube – provided a perfect finale to the busy first day of the Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction, with revelers comparing notes about what caught their eye during around the site and looking forward to the action in the auction arena kicking off on Thursday.
