The Barrett-Jackson Collection Showroom in Scottsdale, Arizona.
To most people, the name Barrett-Jackson is synonymous with the quartet of world-renowned collector car auctions they watch on Velocity and Discovery every year. But there is another side of the business that’s ready to serve Barrett-Jackson enthusiasts. At 3020 N. Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale, Arizona, visitors can discover the Barrett-Jackson Collection Showroom, an automotive candy store filled with great collector cars, a merchandise showroom and service facility that’s open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays by special appointment.
The current inventory at the Showroom includes this 1969 Mustang Boss 429.
Staffed by ASE-Certified mechanics and well-trained automotive historians, the service facility at the Barrett-Jackson Showroom compound offers repair, maintenance and restoration services to owners of collector cars. Maybe your HEMI ’Cuda needs a valve-lash adjustment and some detailing after a summer of fun cruising. The ASE-Certified service team can handle it. They’re also ready to install that crate engine you bought for your street rod but ran out of time to do yourself. Maybe your classic Jaguar has a recurring electrical glitch. That doesn’t scare the Barrett-Jackson team. They love Lucas electrical systems and can set things right.
From simple service procedures to major restoration projects, your specialty car deserves attention from caring, enthusiastic and educated technicians. And that’s what it gets at the Barrett-Jackson Collection Showroom.
For fans of the Barrett-Jackson television broadcast who haven’t yet been able to attend in person, the merchandise showroom offers the same apparel, restoration products and official Barrett-Jackson merchandise sold at all the big venues. From the high-intensity solar-powered flashlight (the same one used by Velocity TV onstage commentator Steve Magnante to highlight VIN codes to millions of home TV viewers) to fashionable leather jackets with the Barrett-Jackson brand, the merchandise at the Showroom offers something for everyone. There’s even a representative from Barrett-Jackson-endorsed collector car insurance if you want improved coverage for your beauty.
And for those who might be looking to sell a special-interest car but don’t have the time to deal with online or newspaper classified ads, Barrett-Jackson welcomes non-auction vehicle sale consignments. Let us handle the task of selling your car or even your collection of several cars. Take advantage of Barrett-Jackson’s unequalled network of qualified buyers. We’ll help you get the best sale result this side of the auction block.
This reimagined 1962 Buick Special known as “Bu’Wicked” is a multi-award-winner known for its starring role in the video game “Gran Turismo 4.”
The Barrett-Jackson Collection Showroom wouldn’t be complete without rows of gleaming machines, ready for a place of pride in your garage or collection. This inventory of desirable and collectible vehicles rotates frequently – January 2017 was a record-breaking month for the Showroom.
The current inventory includes everything from a 1965 Thunder Bug dune buggy to the 1966 Mercury Cyclone campaigned in NASCAR by racing great Daryl Dieringer. There are also several restored muscle cars, including a 1970 Dodge Challenger 440 Six Pack, 1970 Plymouth AAR ’Cuda 340 Six Pack and even a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Of the 503 built to homologate the aerodynamic nose cone and towering trunk spoiler for NASCAR competition, only 70 were factory-built with the J-code 426 Street HEMI. The Barrett-Jackson Collection Showroom has one of them.
Ford is also well represented at the Showroom with a 1969 Mustang Boss 429 on offer. Completely restored to showroom stock condition, this Wimbledon White rarity is one of only 859 built in 1969 and, amazingly, it still has its matching-numbers Boss 429 engine and Toploader 4-speed transmission. With full verification from Ford factory records expert Kevin Marti, this Mustang is the automotive equivalent of royalty.
While muscle cars and well-preserved stock specialty cars play a major role in the collector car kingdom, there has always been a place for customs and radically modified machines as well. In fact, Barrett-Jackson was one of the first automotive auction houses to give customs, Resto-Mods and Pro-Touring builds the attention they deserve. A fine example of the breed is the Bu’Wicked, a high-dollar reimagining of the 1962 Buick Special compact car.
Loaded with hand-fabricated custom parts in the suspension, interior, body and engine bay, the builders of these modern custom creations are leaving works of art that will continue to be admired – and collected – by future generations. With its Art Morrison tubular chassis, huge 13-inch Baer disc brakes, Richmond 6-speed double overdrive manual transmission, 555 horsepower supercharged Buick V8 and tasteful use of colors inside and out, Bu’Wicked stands as an achievement worthy of praise.
And sure enough, when completed, it was a top-five finalist for Goodguys 2003 Street Machine of the Year. Better still, Bu’Wicked was featured on the cover of nationally circulated magazines like Custom Rodder and Popular Hot Rodding, where its blend of subtle taste and exotic hardware helped redefine the art of vehicle customizing for the 21st century. And though Bu’Wicked was completed nearly 15 years ago, as if to prove that subtle taste never goes out of style; many who see it today assume it was recently completed. Video game maker Sony was impressed enough to add Bu’Wicked to the Gran Turismo 4 fantasy vehicle fleet in 2014.
So that’s the story of the Barrett-Jackson Collection Showroom. The off-campus auctions may get the TV notoriety and attract huge crowds, but the Showroom serves as a sort of home base, and it’s ready for your visit.
