The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window coupe is one of the most iconic American cars ever built, a true symbol of 1960s performance and style. But this particular example, offered with No Reserve at the 2025 Scottsdale Auction, January 18-26 at WestWorld, takes that legacy and elevates it to a whole new level. Completely restored and customized by Factory Hot Rods, this second-generation Corvette has been transformed into a modern marvel, blending classic design with cutting-edge technology and engineering.
At first glance, this Corvette retains its unmistakable factory appearance, the kind that turns heads and stirs nostalgia for a bygone era of American muscle. The legendary split rear window ‒ a defining feature that was exclusive to 1963 ‒ remains intact, preserving its historic design cues. However, beneath the surface, this Corvette has undergone a radical transformation that turns it into a high-performance machine ready for the modern era.
At the heart of this incredible build is a GM LS3 crate engine, finely tuned to produce a ferocious 525 horsepower. The LS3 is known for its reliable power and modern engineering and is backed by a 4-speed automatic GM 4L75E overdrive transmission turning a Winters Quick Change center section with a 3.55 gear ratio connected to heavy-duty rear axles with Z06 hubs.
The engine has been dressed with a polished sheet metal intake and a custom cold-air intake system while exhaling through Stainless Works headers. This setup ensures that the engine not only looks stunning but also breathes with optimal efficiency, delivering peak performance. Complementing the engine’s upgrades is a full suite of polished components, from the EVOD polished Corvette script coil covers to the front drive system. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the engine management system to the Lectric Limited RestoMod wiring harnesses. And thanks to a high-capacity Dewitt polished radiator, this Corvette stays cool even under demanding conditions.
Underneath the timeless exterior lies a state-of-the-art SRIII super-tube chassis, which forms the backbone of this Corvette’s modern performance. This custom chassis is equipped with a C7 Z06 suspension system at both the front and rear, allowing it to handle like a true modern sports car. The Z06 sway bars and performance brake package, complete with 14-inch rotors, give this classic the ability to be as nimble and responsive as a new performance vehicle.
The use of Viking coilover shocks with 18 levels of ride control allows the driver to fine-tune the suspension for any driving scenario, whether it’s carving through mountain roads or cruising in comfort. The car connects to the asphalt via Michelin Pilot SS red line tires, wrapped around custom 20×12-inch Schott Split-Window wheels that tuck neatly under the stock quarter panels.
While performance upgrades are often the focus of a custom build, the attention to detail in terms of comfort and design set this Corvette apart. The build began with a clean, original 1967 Stinger hood and an original GM factory body that was restored on a rotisserie and then topped off with a gorgeous Titanium Blue Metallic paint.
The exterior of this Split-Window coupe is packed with subtle but significant upgrades. The tucked, triple-plated chrome bumpers gleam, while the Detroit Speed electric headlight motors and 7-speed wiper system bring modern convenience. Polished brightwork and new tinted glass complete the look, ensuring this Corvette maintains its timeless beauty while being suited for modern-day driving.
One of the most impressive aspects of this build is the level of customization geared toward driver comfort. Taller drivers will appreciate the 3-inch stretch in the rear floor combined with other modification that have resulted in an extra 8 inches of space between the steering column and the seat ‒ a thoughtful modification that makes this car far more accessible to taller occupants than its original configuration. Sitting behind the wheel, you’ll find yourself in command with a Billet Specialties D-shaped steering wheel mounted on a Flaming River column that offers control over the car’s powerful dynamics.
The interior features custom red double stitching on the Daytona Blue leather that complements the car’s exterior color. The Daytona Hot Rod carpet adds a further touch of luxury, making the cabin feel as upscale as it is sporty. Classic Instruments gauges with SkyDrive and a custom sound system disguised as the original bring modern functionality while preserving the vintage aesthetic. Shoulder harness belts have been integrated into the design, providing peace of mind.
The sale includes a photo album documenting the entire process, along with an owner’s operations manual, further showcasing the care and precision that went into creating this Corvette. Whether you admire it for its history or its modern prowess, one thing is certain ‒this Corvette is undeniably cool, and it will soon be heading to its new home. Register to bid for a chance to make it yours.
