Barrett-Jackson was the place to be on Friday as nearly 250 more incredible collector cars made their way across the famous auction block, from impressive muscle cars and gorgeous Resto-Mods to a 1965 AC Cobra with Aaron Shelby riding shotgun for the sale. A re-creation of the iconic “Mystery Machine” set a world auction record, and the end of the night saw the very first collector car NFTs to ever be sold live at auction take a turn on the block.

The second charity car of the 2021 Las Vegas Auction had its turn in the spotlight today: a 1956 Chevrolet 150 sedan that served as a staff car at the Sioux Army Depot in Sidney, Nebraska, until 1964. Carefully restored to its original condition after spending years in a farmer’s barn, the interesting Chevy brought the gavel down on a winning bid of $70,000, all of which fittingly benefits the Honor Flight Network, which recognizes our nation’s veterans with all-expense-paid trips to the memorials in Washington, D.C.

That 1965 AC Cobra was Friday’s showstopper, taking top honors for the day with a sale price of $907,500. Other top sellers included a stunning white 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible that brought in $189,200 and a 1966 Ford Mustang Custom Fastback that grabbed a winning bid of $150,700. Records continued to be set throughout Day Two of the event, highlighted by a 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Coupe for $137,500, a Chrysler 300K Convertible for $99,000 and a 1979 Dodge Power Wagon Custom Pickup for $81,400.

Among the top automobilia sales on Friday was this Ferrari dealership sign, which brought in $31,050.

Friday morning’s Automobilia Auction featured nearly 100 more unique and rare pieces of collectibles from times gone by, when the cars we now consider classics cruised the streets. Neon signs captured many of the top sales of the day, with large Gulf Oil and Ferrari signs bringing in $33,350 and $31,050 respectively. A crowd favorite was a “Sandy the Horse” kiddie ride from the 1950s, which sold for $14,375, and also ending up among the top sellers was a rare Mobil Oil gas pump with an art deco influence, which brought in $17,250.
