Jeff Hayes is a highly regarded and prominent personality in the realm of Resto-Mod Corvettes. For almost 20 years, he has honed his expertise, focusing on the second-generation C2 Corvette, with special emphasis on the unique 1963 Split-Window coupe – a one-year-only body style ‒ and the 1967 convertible, marking the final year of the C2 Corvette era.

780_9254After 14 years of crafting Resto-Mod Corvettes infused with hot-rod aesthetics, Hayes was eager for a new challenge. The result was a stunning custom 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible in eye-catching Silver Blue paint that contrasted elegantly with a Cream interior. This exceptional creation was sold at the 2022 Scottsdale Auction for $715,000.

Remaining committed to his decision to steer away from the classic black and red hues, which had been his signature style in the earlier stages of his career, Hayes introduced another custom 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible at the 2023 Scottsdale Auction. This distinctive vehicle featured a Dirty Martini Green exterior paired with a Buttercream interior. The unique-colored convertible sold for $770,000, securing its place as the highest-selling custom 1967 Corvette to date.

To kick off 2024, Barrett-Jackson will offer Hayes’ latest creation with No Reserve during the Scottsdale Auction, January 20 to 28 at WestWorld: a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible Resto-Mod. This Corvette, which was finished in October 2023, features a robust LS3 V8 engine delivering a powerful 540 horsepower, coupled with a 4L70E automatic transmission. It rides on an Art Morrison sport chassis, offering improved handling and a modern touch to its classic design. The 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes enhance its stopping capabilities, ensuring it performs well in various driving situations.

780_9257Inside, the car is equipped with modern conveniences for comfort and entertainment. This includes a Vintage Air system to keep the cabin climate comfortable, an AM/FM Bluetooth stereo for music and connectivity, power steering and power windows for ease of operation, and a power hood to make showing off the beautiful engine bay more convenient.

What distinguishes this 1967 Corvette from other Hayes builds is its unique color scheme, with a Champagne exterior finish complemented by a Linen-colored interior. To enhance its overall aesthetics, Hayes has outfitted this Corvette with custom-designed Schott wheels wrapped in special white line tires, giving it a distinctive and stylish appearance that sets it apart from the rest.

Jeff Hayes continues to be a driving force in the world of Resto-Mod Corvettes, consistently pushing the boundaries of design and performance. With his latest creation poised to hit the auction block at the 2024 Scottsdale Auction, Hayes’ legacy of innovation and exceptional craftsmanship lives on, captivating enthusiasts with each remarkable build.
