LOT #785 – 1959 CADILLAC MILLER & METEOR ‘GHOSTBUSTERS ECTOMOBILE’ RE-CREATION – SOLD! $297,000

Throughout the week, the 2025 Scottsdale Auction has set world auction records day after day at WestWorld with many spectacular sales. Adding to the excitement on Day 6, Thursday, Jan. 23, was a significant number of vehicles selling for over six figures, including the day’s top sale from the Dr. Stewart A. Berkowitz Collection, a 1959 Cadillac Miller & Meteor “Ghostbusters Ectomobile” re-creation (Lot #785) that sold for $297,000. The Berkowitz Collection also brought a 1983 DeLorean DMC-12 “Back To The Future” re-creation (Lot #785.1) that went to its new home for $132,000.

Other top sales of the day included:

Charity car moments at Barrett-Jackson are always special, and Thursday’s sale of a 2021 Ford F-150 XLT Custom Pickup (Lot #3000) was no exception. This No Reserve truck ‒ the first of five charity vehicles to cross the auction block this week ‒ is a stunning collaboration between renowned automotive designer Chip Foose and RealTruck that captured hearts and drew a winning bid of $150,000 from Barrett-Jackson friends John and Betty Burkland. Because Barrett-Jackson waives all fees and commissions for charity sales, 100% of the hammer price of this F-150 will directly benefit the Progeria Research Foundation. This nonprofit organization is devoted to raising awareness, supporting families and advancing research to find a cure for this rare genetic disease.

The auction block also served as the perfect stage for the international debut of Shelby American’s latest vehicle: the 2025 Shelby GT350, based on the S650 seventh-gen Ford Mustang. Gary Patterson, president of Shelby American, and Aaron Shelby, grandson of the late Carroll Shelby and longtime fan and supporter of Barrett-Jackson, joined Barrett-Jackson Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson and President Steve Davis on the block for the special occasion. The new GT350 makes its debut 60 years after the original GT350 first hit the streets. The modern car from Shelby American comes with over 800hp, and Shelby officials announced there will be a special run of 36 GT350-R models to honor the 36 GT350-Rs created in 1965.

The many incredible moments on the block attracted celebrities to the auction site on Thursday, including baseball great Reggie Jackson and stand-up comedian and actor Adam Ferrara.

The day also included colorful, eye-catching, collectible cool items from the morning’s Automobilia Auction, ranging from a 1926 Indian Gas Butler Model #71 visible gas pump (Lot #9299.5) to a late 1949s Exide Batteries tin sign (Lot #9254.1) and a Ten Strike Classic Bowling Machine (Lot #9281).

Guests at Barrett-Jackson enjoyed a day filled with excitement and entertainment across the sprawling auction site. The morning kicked off with a Collector Car Symposium, where the topic “The Art of Custom” took center stage. Panelists included renowned builders Chip Foose, famed for Overhaulin’ and owner of Foose Designs; Charles Crews, a partner at Classic Car Studio; and Jesse Greening, owner of Greening Auto Company.

Adding to the day’s highlights, another finalist for the 2025 Barrett-Jackson Cup was unveiled: a 1969 Ford F-100 built by Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs and owned by Troy Peck. This stunning build, along with one more finalist to be revealed tomorrow, will join the other finalists on the auction stage on Saturday, Jan. 26, where the Ultimate Best In Show winner will be crowned and awarded the $20,000 cash purse. Voting for the People’s Choice award remains open until 11:59 p.m. MST on Friday, Jan. 24.

The vibrant Exhibitor Marketplace and vehicle display tents offered plenty for guests to explore, while a variety of food options catered to every taste. Adding to the lively atmosphere, the day’s entertainment extended beyond the auction arena, featuring favorite local bands at the Live Music Stage presented by Arizona Lottery, performances at the South Showcase Stage, and DJ sets at the Santo Tequila Patio and the Cigar Bar. The live music and DJ performances will continue into Friday and Saturday, so be sure to check the Schedule of Events for times and locations.

Plan to join us Friday, Jan. 24, for another fun-filled day at WestWorld! In addition to all-day tickets, special Evening Session pricing is available for entry after 5 p.m., making it easy to stop by after work. The excitement continues well into the night, with activities lasting until the final car crosses the auction block. Catch the action all day and evening via the livestream or tune in to HISTORY from 1 to 6 p.m. and FYI from 6 to 10 p.m. (MST) to watch the auction unfold. In the meantime, enjoy this gallery of highlights from today’s event.
