SCOTTSDALE, AZ – May 10, 2017 – With great regret, Barrett-Jackson today announced the retirement of Gary Bennett, Vice President of Consignment at Barrett-Jackson.

After being introduced to Russ and Nellie Jackson at the company’s inaugural event in 1971, Gary became a regular bidder and consignor at Barrett-Jackson auctions. In 1995, Craig Jackson took the reins of the company after the passing of his father Russ and brother Brian. Gary, along with Steve Davis (now the company president) approached Craig to ask if they could help.

Gary assisted Craig with special projects for the next seven years and officially joined the company in 2002. His contributions to the success of the collector car auction company are immeasurable. His many years of collector car expertise and his ability to make anyone feel part of the Barrett-Jackson family were invaluable in the day-to-day operations of the company.

“Gary has been an integral part of the Barrett-Jackson team since the beginning and became a dear friend to my family,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “His passion for the collector car industry is undeniable. Gary’s presence around the office and on our auction block will be greatly missed. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with him and consider him a great friend.”

Gary has been involved in the automotive industry throughout his professional career, including the restoration, aftermarket and design fields – and, having been an avid race car driver himself, was no stranger at racetracks throughout the United States. He was instrumental in helping Barrett-Jackson refine the consignment team and helped bring together a team of automotive experts to assist at the auctions.

“Gary’s contribution to the success of Barrett-Jackson has been invaluable,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “His knowledge, experience and sincerity made him a very special guy. He will be missed by the entire Barrett-Jackson family.”

“It’s been an amazing journey, and I’ve cherished every moment of it,” said Gary Bennett. “I deeply appreciate the opportunity to have helped shape the collector car hobby as part of the Barrett-Jackson team. Though I enjoyed the energy and excitement of the auction block, the deep friendships forged over the years were the most important part of my time at Barrett-Jackson. While I’ve retired from the business, I plan on continuing those relationships at future Barrett-Jackson events.”

The Barrett-Jackson team is very appreciative of his tireless efforts, unconditional commitment and dedication throughout the years. Everyone wishes him the very best in his retirement.
