Barrett-Jackson generates more than $32 million in sales at 6th annual Las Vegas Auction

The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™ Generates Highest Grossing Las Vegas Sale with Largest Number of Cars, Attracting Nearly 70,000 Attendees
Las Vegas, NV. – (October 1, 2013) – Barrett-Jackson The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™ announced today that it generated more than $32 million in gross sales which is a 41% increase over 2012 during its 6th Annual Las Vegas auction at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on September 26-28, 2013. The event was the largest Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction outside of its world-renowned Scottsdale event with a record-breaking 657 consignments.
Nearly 70,000 fans were in attendance to witness a world class auction celebrating American cars such as Lincolns, Corvettes and Shelbys that rocked the house including Rick Hendrick’s stunning pair of 1963 Chevrolet Corvettes that broke the bank (Lot #716 – $106,400 and Lot #716.1 – $110,000). Also adding to the celebration was Lot #689 1999 Chevrolet Suburban from “The Sopranos” Seasons 1-4 that brought $110,000. Barrett-Jackson will also be offering the late James Gandolfini’s personal 1972 Oldsmobile 442 convertible at the Scottsdale event January 12-19, 2014.1

- Lot #738: 1967 Shelby GT500E – $242,000
Barrett-Jackson kicked off its 6th annual event with a live performance from multi-platinum country star Clay Walker at the Opening Night Party on the beach at Mandalay Bay. Walker continued with his support and performed the National Anthem on Thursday as well as his hit, “All American” on the auction block during a special military tribute that afternoon. Other high profile celebrities in attendance included the legendary Las Vegas performers Siegfried and Roy,critically acclaimed film director Bryan Singer, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and 2012 Playboy Playmate of the Year Jaclyn Swedberg.

This week’s Las Vegas event was broadcast on the FOX family of networks, which included 22 hours of live, high-definition coverage available to nearly 100 million homes marking the largest viewership in auction house history. Fans were able to enjoy the coverage on several FOX networks, including FOX Sports 1 (FS1); FOX Sports 2 (FS2); and the National Geographic Channel, which put the auction in front of an entirely new audience.
