LAS VEGAS – August 14, 2018Barrett-Jackson is hauling in an impressive lineup of classic and custom trucks for its 11th Annual Las Vegas Auction at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Sept. 27-29, 2018. The premiere automotive lifestyle auction docket includes an expansive list of American-built classic collector trucks from Chevrolet and Ford. Among the custom trucks consigned for Las Vegas are a ’58 Chevrolet Apache (Lot #678) and a ’56 Ford F-100 Big-Window (preview).

“Trucks are an important part of American culture and increasingly popular among collectors,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “From dusty days on the farm to an evening out on the town, pickups have connected us in a way unlike many other collector vehicles. Not only are they functional, but they offer the perfect canvas for personalization. We have some incredible examples of these custom, professionally built trucks crossing our block in Las Vegas. Each is a testament to the passion collectors have for their pickups.”

Custom Chevrolet pickups consigned for the Las Vegas Auction include a ’55 3100 (preview) finished in Triple Jet Black, with a modified body and chopped top. Custom upgrades throughout include air over leaf suspension, upper and lower A-arms, rack & pinion steering, power and lumbar seats, Pioneer audio system and Dakota Digital gauge cluster. Also crossing the block is a ’58 Chevrolet Apache (preview). With only 182 miles since its completion, this 2016 Battle of the Builders SEMA build is the cover truck for the 2019 Snap-On Tools calendar and was featured in Street Truck’s August 2017 issue.

“The enormous time, talent and resources being invested into truck customizing is very impressive,” said Steve Davis, Barrett-Jackson president. “The interest for professionally built custom trucks has been skyrocketing in recent years and the quality of workmanship in the vehicles has really grown, making custom trucks a staple in many collections across the country. We are looking forward to the beautiful selection of these custom pickups heading to our 2018 Las Vegas Auction.”

Ford-built custom pickups will also be an exciting part of this year’s Las Vegas auction, including a no-expense-spared ’56 F-100 Big-Window (preview). A fine example of a Pro-Touring build, this F-100 is powered by a 505-horsepower LS7 engine mated to a 4L70E automatic transmission. The entire truck has been soundproofed with Dynamat and features Ron Francis wiring, upgraded audio system, 6-way power seats and electric windows and door locks. Finished in yellow with a striking red interior, a beautiful custom ’47 Ford 3-Window truck (preview) features many modern upgrades. A recent build, it includes a Mustang II suspension, power rack & pinion steering, chromed-out 350ci engine and 4-speed automatic transmission.
