This is a 1973 VW Thing, Type 181. This newly restored car is ready to drive or show. In 'near original' condition, the car features its original engine and 4-speed transmission. Sounds and runs great. My wife bought this car on 7/17/89. The car was driven very little and has spent most of it's life garage stored. Restoration includes new original equipment parts as required, new paint, new upholstery, new OE Top, custom side curtains, custom original equipment style hardwood duct boards and front / rear OE wheels. The chassis and underside has been rust-proofed and bed liner added to inside floorboards for sound proofing. This car also has the rare and working Eberspacher BN-4 benzene heater under the front hood. Also featured are box-style roll bars.
