Details
This vehicle is one of two SSRs developed for NASCAR Pace Car duty in 2004. In addition to the four NEXTEL Cup stock car races, this SSR also paced several late season Indy League races and performed parade duty in the 2004 Woodward Dream Cruise. The engine is a 5.3 Liter OHV V8 GM Vortec 5300 that produces 335 lbs/ft at 4000 rpm and 300bhp at 5200 rpm. The transmission is a 4L60E 4-speed automatic. The suspension features Ground Force front and rear springs, 25mm reduction in ride height, Bilstein front and rear shocks with custom valving for pace vehicle, wheel to wheel urethane replacement bushings for front and rear lower control arms and rear track bar, GM 35mm front sway bar, wheel to wheel 28mm rear sway bar and wheel to wheel urethane rear sway bar bushings. Also features GM OEM chrome 5-spoke 19x8' front and 20x10' rear tires with Goodyear certified 255/45R-19 front and 295/40R-20 rear tires. The lighting includes four clear bulbs in the front of vehicle (one in each headlamp and driving lamp), clear bulbs in all side markers, rear side markers are amber to match the front, integrated strobe light housing in tailgate with six amber bulbs and one amber bulb in each backup lamp, Whelen CSP12180 strobe controllers and an illuminated Chevrolet bowtie on the tonneau cover. The pace vehicle safety features include Simpson 3' lap belts and hand-held 2.5 lb fire extinguisher. THIS IS A MODIFIED VEHICLE.
