Details
Documented Gran Sport 455 convertible built at Fremont, California plant. Sold at Peck Buick in San Diego, California. Sloan Museum documented. Extensive frame-on restoration completed in 2010. Fresh 4-wheel brake job with all three factory flex lines replaced, new shoes and pads, calipers and wheel cylinders. New master cylinder and booster. Four new Monroe Sensa-trak shocks and 4 new Moog springs. Front end rebuild with all new Moog parts with overhauled steering box. The following parts were GM NOS in the box, water pump, fuel pump, marker lights, taillight lenses, GS grille, windshield washer jar, GS fender emblems, GS grille emblem, GS trunk emblem. Restored matching numbers carburetor, plated bumpers from AIH Chrome in Dubuque, Iowa. Fresh tune-up, GM NOS points, rotor, cap, condenser and plugs. Correct date coded Packard spark plug wires. Overhauled cruise control transducer, overhauled dash tachometer, overhauled Buick 8-Track player. New alternator and starter. New K&N air filter. All new legendary interior installed. New USA made top cylinders installed, new USA top hydraulic lines installed. One of only 1,040 automatic transmission GS 455 convertibles built in 1970. Factory bucket seat console car with less than 80,000 documented miles. Recent transmission fluid and filter change. Matching numbers Turbo 400 transmission. Factory 2.93 open rear end. New gear lube with new GM NOS pinion seal installed. Recent 4-row core radiator and heater core installed. New TA performance 2?' mandrel bent exhaust system installed with stainless steel band clamps, all new OEM-style stainless steel hangers from Pypes, Inc., with 3-chamber long case Flowmasters. GM rear sway bar with boxed lower control arms. Fresh engine oil and filter change with chassis lubrication. New Electron top installed in March of this year.
