This custom 1971 Chevrolet K5 Blazer known as "Moab" is powered by a modified GEN IV LS3 engine paired with a GM Connect-and-Cruise 4LE automatic overdrive transmission featuring a 2,600-rpm stall converter and auxiliary transmission cooler. The original NP-205 transfer case remains, while the front and rear axles have been upgraded with 4.11 Eaton posi-traction units and custom-painted B&M differential covers with large oil capacities. The drivetrain enhancements include a hand-built dual 3-inch stainless-steel mandrel-bent exhaust system, Patriot Tight Tuck Ceramic headers, a F.A.S.T. LSXR 102M intake manifold, billet fuel rails, 50 lb/hr Precision-Flow fuel injectors, a Granatelli Motorsports 103mm throttle body, MSD Coil Blasters, Comp Cams Hi-Torque roller cam and Clayton Machine Works coil covers. The body retains 95% of its original sheet metal, stripped and epoxy-primed before being finished with a Dupont basecoat and clearcoat. The underside is coated with U-Pol Raptor for chip resistance and sound-deadening. The frame, supports, inner fenders, skid plates and fuel tank cover are powder-coated for added durability. Additional exterior features include a custom-painted front grille with black inserts, LED lighting, a front bumper light bar, 1970s-style Cibie auxiliary off-road lights and a rear tailgate hatch fitted with gas struts. Riding on one-of-a-kind 17-inch EOVD Industries billet aluminum wheels designed to replicate the period-correct GM 10-hole Rally Sport wheels, this Blazer is fitted with 35-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain K2 tires with white lettering. The suspension system includes 4-inch lift soft-ride springs, Fox 2.0 shock absorbers with remote reservoirs and a BDS dual-opposing Fox steering stabilizer. The braking system features Wilwood red calipers, dimpled and slotted rotors, and stainless-steel brake lines. Steering enhancements include a Hydratech Braking Systems Hydroboost setup, PSC components, a quick-ratio steering gearbox and a 3-inch drop pitman arm for improved steering linkage geometry. Inside, the showroom-quality interior retains a period-correct aesthetic with upgraded upholstery, carpet and weatherstripping. A 2016 Silverado ebony black leather jump-seat console with USB charging is installed, housing a Blaupunkt 1500-watt amplifier, a Blaupunkt 7-band equalizer and period-correct Pioneer speakers. The RetroSound stereo head unit supports Bluetooth, MP3 and auxiliary input. The dashboard features Dakota Digital VHX gauges, and the steering wheel selection includes two custom Momo Racing three-spoke leather wheels, one engraved with "Moab 4x4."
