Details

This 1978 Clenet Series I Roadster is powered by a Ford 351ci 2-barrel V8 engine paired with a Ford C6 3-speed automatic transmission. According to the commemorative plate on the driver's door, it is No. 115 of only 250 Series I Roadsters produced by Clenet Coachworks between 1976 and 1979. This rear-wheel-drive, two-door roadster features a sympathetic cosmetic restoration completed in 2015 by the SugarCreek Collection, which included refreshed Cream and brown paint along with reupholstered brown plush leather upholstery. It features a brown nylon manual soft-top and rides on 15x7-inch Dayton chrome-spoked knock-off wheels wrapped in Firestone FR721 P235/75R15 whitewall tires. Exterior design elements include faux external exhaust pipes, a two-section V-shaped front bumper, trumpet horns, Raydyot spotlights, running lights, butterfly-hinged hood, triple windshield wipers, running boards with wood and polished steel trim, and a rear-mounted spare tire with brown canvas cover. Interior appointments include an Italian walnut burl dashboard, etched vent windows and a Waterford crystal ashtray. Instrumentation is provided by VDO gauges, including a 120-mph speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure and analog clock. Additional features include power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, heater, Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo with Kenwood equalizer, seat belts, courtesy lights, sun visors with vanity mirrors, map pouches in the doors, lockable glove box with courtesy light and a cigar/cigarette lighter. The vehicle rides on a 120.4-inch wheelbase, with an overall length of 191.4 inches and a curb weight of 3,593 pounds. Mechanical service includes a new radiator and water pump. The body plate reads "Clenet Coachworks: Body by Cleveland/Paint by Kouracos, Johnson/Interior by Buse." Included with the car are a tonneau cover, extra dash light, knock-off hammer and wheel hub tool, and a Touring Club badge on the grille.
