Details
The Fiat Motor Company introduced the remarkable 500-A series in 1936. The little 4-cylinder, 13 hp car, designed by Dante Giacosa, quickly became known by adoring Italians as the 'Little Mouse' (Topolino), a name which suited the car perfectly. The Topolino was judged as one of the '100 Most Important Cars of the Century' by Classic and Sportscar Magazine. Sold new by a dealer in Massachusetts, this is the earliest 500-A listed in the North American Topolino Registry and is one of 60 known to have survived of the 300 sent here. The car was driven for only 8,705 miles before going into barn storage, where it remained for 52 years prior to undergoing a full, professional restoration in 2000-2001. Upon completion it was entered in four car shows, where it won a number of Best in Show, First Place and People's Choice Awards.
