Details
Many U.S. motorcycle manufacturers had come and gone in the 1920's, 30's and 40's. By 1948 only Indian and Harley Davidson were still in business, and Indian was struggling! These Indians were known to be smoother and faster than the Harleys but also more expensive to build and buy. By 1953 Indian would cease production, leaving only Harley Davidson as a U.S. builder. Only a few Indian Chiefs were given the full dress 'Roadmaster' treatment in 1948. 74 cubic inch V-Twin engine. Full frame-off restoration by Glenn Shaffer.
