Of the 1,402 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Coupes built over the four years they were produced, the 1955 production year accounted for 867 examples. This particular car was completed on May 6th, 1955 and shipped to the United States on May 10th, 1955 to Mercedes-Benz Distributors, Inc., in New York. With fewer than 70,000 original miles, this fully restored Gullwing, finished to exact factory specifications, comes complete with the coveted Rudge knock-off wheels, full set of aluminum 'belly pans', fitted luggage and a full set of original tools including the jack.
