Details
This vehicle was purchased by the original owner in Stuttgart in July, 1970. He was an Air Force medical officer stationed in Germany, and returned to the States with the car the next year. He moved to Tucson permanently in 1978 where the car has been ever since. It has never been in an accident. I am the second owner, and purchased the car in 1996. Equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, air conditioning, MB Tex upholstery and a self-locking differential. Along with the convertible top and removable hard top a storage stand is included with the car. Over $28,000 has been spent on restoration which includes a complete engine rebuild, new paint, re-upholstered seats, new floor carpeting and restored wood trim and dash pieces. The rebuilt engine includes a new block, and has 12,000 miles on it. The car also has been equipped with a stainless steel exhaust system, an electronic ignition, and retractable seat belts.
