Equipped with the optional RPO 579B 283cid/283hp Rochester Fuel Injection engine. Being a late production car, it is equipped with the 4-speed manual transmission and posi-traction rear axle. This was the first year Corvette offered a 4-speed. This car was equipped as an early day boulevard charger with a deleted radio, deleted heater and hard top only roof. I restored this car back to its original glory in 2007 and 2008. The car is finished in Onyx Black lacquer paint with silver coves. It has red vinyl seats, red carpet and red interior trim with a beige lower dash. Each and every component on the entire car has been restored back to the original condition with all part numbers and date codes being correct. Some of the trim and interior items are exact reproductions where the original GM parts have been discontinued years ago. In April of 2008 the car was judged at the NCRS Chattanooga Regional Meet and scored a 98.9 Top Flight Award. The car was then presented for Performance Verification at the NCRS Pennsylvania Regional in June of the same year. It passed with the required 100% on a 17 mile road course. The next NCRS event was at the National Convention in St. Charles, MO in July of 2008 for the final Flight judging, Duntov Mark of Excellence Award. The car was awarded both awards with a remarkable score of 99.4%. On June 27, 2008 the car was certified Gold by the National Corvette Certification Board at the Bloomington Gold event in St. Charles, IL. Bloomington doesn't give a percentile score, however mathematically the car scored 99.6%. The options are documented by the many awards it has received at national judging events.
