Details

Built by Matityahu Performance Motors, this 1923 Ford Speedster nicknamed 'Phantom' was built with a fighter-pilot theme. The cockpit has a custom-made dashboard equipped with a range of restored WWII fighter-plane gauges, bucket seats made from WWII Air Force-issued bomber pants detailed with army-style grommets and an original 1948 Douglas DC-6 control yoke (steering wheel). The bucket is vented by fighter-plane-style air ducts, and the brake, clutch and gas pedals were designed and cut from polished aluminum blocks. This speedster is fitted with a custom grille and restored 1930 Trippe Speedlight headlights with a glowing orange turn-signal marker on top. Power comes from a 460hp Ford 5.0-liter Coyote engine with custom Phantom-branded valve covers, a custom breather and a custom-designed and made exhaust by Henderson Headers. The engine is paired with a TREMEC TR-6060 6-speed high-performance Magnum double-overdrive manual transmission with 700 ft/lbs of torque capacity. It's equipped with a Kugel/Winters polished 1,000hp 9-inch Quick Change held in place with an aluminum polished Heidts Pro-G independent rear suspension with adjustable coilovers and high-power fabricated stainless-steel tube control arms. It has front torsion bars, a set of parallel torsion bars tucked way into the back of the frame, controlling the rear axle. Stopping is handled with inboard-mounted Wilwood polished calipers and rear brake rotors with SO-CAL Speed Shop front brakes using Wilwood polished calipers and 11-inch vented rotors. The chassis was made from 2.5-inch OD chromoly steel tubing, as were the front, center and rear crossmembers. The one-off 18-inch Budnik-made wheels are wrapped in Stahl Sport Excelsior radial tires. The engine computer is hidden under a firewall-mounted VW polished valve cover and all stainless-steel bolts were used. **TITLED AS 1923 FORD SPECON** **SOLD ON BONDED TITLE** **TITLE IN TRANSIT**
