This 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor is a re-creation the Ectomobile ("Ecto-1") used in the 1984 film "Ghostbusters." Written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and directed by Ivan Reitman, "Ghostbusters" was released on June 8, 1984, to critical and public acclaim. Featuring the supernatural misadventures of a four-man team of ghost hunters, the movie starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis as Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz and Egon Spengler, three eccentric parapsychologists who start a ghost-catching business in New York City. Supporting actors included such A-Listers as Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, Annie Potts, Ernie Hudson and William Atherton. A massive hit, "Ghostbusters" drew some $282 million worldwide during its initial theatrical run and was the second-highest-grossing film of 1984 in the United States and Canada, and the highest-grossing comedy ever at the time. In addition to being one of the most successful films of all time, "Ghostbusters" was chosen in 2015 by the U.S. Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry. The catchy theme song, "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr., was also a number-one hit. Based on a highly sound and original 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor "end loader" combination ambulance/hearse, this wonderfully authentic and highly equipped rendition of the Ghostbusters' world-famous Ecto-1 movie vehicle was acquired by Dr. Berkowitz in October 2012 and then professionally restored and upgraded to its present form at South End Kustom in Hemet, CA, with additional customization work provided by Ecto Tech in New Jersey. In addition to body repairs and preparation, the vehicle was repainted in white with red tailfins and fitted with Ghostbuster door graphics. All chrome trim was repaired and replated, emergency lights and additional gauges were installed, a new interior was installed, and tinted windows and new whitewall tires were fitted. Mechanical systems were restored to driving order, including the rebuilt Cadillac 390ci V8 engine residing inside the detailed engine compartment and the rebuilt Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The interior is equipped with a massive array of electrical and electronic equipment, appearing ready to capture and contain mischievous ectoplasmic entities with ease. Best of all, the driver's visor and dash of this stunning, display-ready "Ecto-1" replica are graced by the autographs of comedic legend Dan Aykroyd, as well as veteran actors Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore, and William Atherton, who played the villainous Walter Peck from Environmental Protection. From The Dr. Stewart A. Berkowitz Collection. **SOLD ON BONDED TITLE** **TITLE IN TRANSIT**
