Details
This is Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar's 1962 Ford Thunderbird, which has undergone a two-year cosmetic restoration. It is powered by an original 390ci V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission. This restored Thunderbird showcases the features of the third-generation model, produced from 1961 to 1963. Known for its jet-age design, the 1962 Thunderbird includes styling elements like a bullet-nose grille and dramatic rear-quarter lines. This model year also introduced the Landau variant with a vinyl roof. Hagar recalls cruising in this car with his Montrose bandmates, making it a notable part of rock history. The car was driven by Hagar during the "Rock the Block" concert on January 17, 2025, before its appearance on the auction block. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will benefit suicide prevention.
