This 1970 Buick GSX is No. 646 of 678 built for the model year and was treated to a frame-off restoration completed in 2002, when it was repainted in Apollo White and Gloss Black stripes. Along with the original sheet metal, it is powered by a modified period-correct 455ci engine with the replacement block modified to 464ci, mated to a 1970 Turbo 400 BB-coded 3-speed automatic transmission and has a functional switch pitch torque converter. The engine features ported heads, long-tube headers and a 3-inch exhaust, and power goes down to a built-up 12-bolt posi-traction rear end with Moser axles. This non-stage GSX features optional factory air conditioning, speed warning speedometer and functioning clock. This air conditioning-equipped, California emissions car is currently owned and maintained by a Buick collector and mechanic, and has spent the last 11 years in Arizona.
