This 1983 DeLorean DMC-12 is a re-creation of the "Time Machine" seen in the 1985 film "Back to the Future." Beloved to millions of fans across several generations, Steven Spielberg's "Back to the Future" requires little, if any, introduction today. For many, the movie also holds a unique place in American car culture as it immortalized the DeLorean DMC-12 as more than just a vehicle - it became an enduring symbol of imagination and technological innovation. Naturally, Dr. Stewart Berkowitz sought a prime example of the DeLorean-based time machine, and he hit a home run with this vehicle, sourced directly from the DeLorean Motor Company in Humble, TX, the keepers of the DeLorean flame with a huge inventory of original factory parts and access to the best examples of the DMC-12 extant. Equipped with an automatic transmission, this 1983 model was purchased with just 4,083 actual miles in January 2018 and then given the full DeLorean Time Machine Conversion (Mr. Fusion Version) by Bob's Prop Shop in Dallas, TX. Additional options were added to the job, including a fog machine kit with batteries, charger, inverter, remote, ducting and lights, plus a rearview video camera system. The highly detailed "Mr. Fusion" system added over 30 individual items and components, including an aluminum rear bulkhead, Flux Capacitor, Mr. Fusion reactor, programmable time circuits, upper console, speedometer and rear pontoon box enclosures, to name just a few of the conversion's many features. Documents accompanying this unforgettable "Back to the Future" movie car tribute include purchase and deal papers, the original vehicle purchase order, the Bob's Prop Shop conversion confirmation letter, a listing of the added features and a certificate from Bob's Prop Shop listing the DeLorean's VIN and the builders, including Robert "Videobob" Moseley, Jack Alderman, Mike Frye, Christopher Hendrickson and Omar Carrillo, plus Erick Coderville and Danny Botkin. Build No. 27, this DeLorean Time Machine was completed on May 23, 2018, and following delivery to Dr. Berkowitz, this special DMC-12 was inducted into his growing collection of TV and cinematic automotive icons.
