This 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R is No. 276 of 300 limited-edition examples produced for the model year, all of which were finished in Performance Red over black cloth upholstery. The "R" Competition option cost $23,840, bringing the total MSRP to $54,445 when new. Power is provided by a 5.4-liter DOHC V8 engine mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The factory-rated output was 385hp and 385 ft/lbs of torque. It is equipped with a sport suspension, including an independent rear suspension, stiffer Eibach springs, Bilstein dampers and larger sway bars. Stopping power is handled by ventilated discs and 4-piston Brembo calipers. Spent gases exit through a performance exhaust system featuring a Bassani X-pipe and Borla mufflers. This Cobra R rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and the exterior features a front air dam, a "power dome" hood, extended side skirts and a rear wing.
