Description
Created by Troy Trepanier, 'Intruder' came out of the box in San Bernardino, California with three miles showing on the odometer. Six days and 2900 cross country miles later, on the Hot Rod Power Tour, Intruder performed flawlessly and returned 20 mpg. The goal for Rad Rides when building Intruder, was to set new standards in style and performance, and to bring the new super rods to another level. Mission accomplished!
Performance experts Summit Racing were actively involved with this project. Powered by a 351 Ford Racing engine with aluminum heads, a trick-flow fuel injection manifold and valve covers top off this assembly. A custom mounted supercharger boosts things up to 510 hp, 450 lbs of torque. A Summit Racing trick bell housing links the Ford 351 to a Borg Warner six speed. A center force clutch provides the friction. Air Ride Technologies four bag control system handles the weight, and Hal's twelve-point adjustable shocks take care of the bumps. Stopping power comes from Baer Racing's 13.1/2" rotors, four-piston calipers up front, along with 14" rotors with four piston calipers on the rear. Finished in PPG's burnt orange and champagne, the creature comforts of Intruder's interior are first class allowing it's occupants to arrive after a long day of power touring feeling as good as the car looks. Truly an automotive work of art.
