Lot #742 - Specially ordered a L-89, M-22, 12 bolt 4.88-geared car with manual steering, tack and gauges, power disc brakes, bench seat, remote driver's mirror, 8-track AM/FM, tilt wheel, black vinyl top, Olympic Gold paint, and Midnight Green interior. One of about twenty that were ever produced! Purchased in 1971 without the motor and with 38,000 miles restoration began in 2000. Keeping in mind this very rare car, body, interior and frame were left original with the exception to the head liner, package tray, carpet, seat and covers. Every bolt, nut, washer, bracket, latch, seat rail, pedal and spring have been re-plated to factory specifications. Air conditioning was added using original heater box and controls but may easily be converted back to the standard heater. A ZZ430 engine, serial #258 of 430 built by GM Stahl headers; 435 horses through a Double D series Richmond 6-speed transmission. A 3" narrowed 12 bolt with 430 gears, Moroso Posi. Achieving modern steering geometry using B-body spindles and tubular control arms. 16 shows, 15 1st places. Owner has original broadcast copy.
