Lot #5032 - The story behind the Ruxton marque and the challenges to build a new front-drive production car is intriguing. The Ruxton sedan is one of the most stylish sedans of its era. Its tapered top and long front end contribute to the unique look. The concours quality restoration of this car features the correct Schumacher upholstery originally used by Ruxton. It also features a striking 3three color paint design that was thoroughly researched to be correct for the car. No other Ruxton in existence has this paint design. All other components down to the bud vases on the door posts are correct for this car. The car has only 70 miles since restoration and is powered by Continental 18S-1102, a straight 8 cylinder 100hp engine with a 3-speed manual transmission and the original front-wheel drive assembly. It also features Woodlight headlights and fender lights, the correct dash with restored gauges, luggage rack, original wheels and wheel covers. This car was invited and shown at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours and won Best in Class at the 2010 Louisville Concours. Ruxton is expected to be the Featured Marque for the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. If so, this automobile would be assured of an invitation. The car has not been shown at any of the other major concours. This Ruxton is a true pleasure to own, experience and display. From the Tim Whited collection.
