Lot #363 - In the early 1990's, noted pre-war collector, the late Craig Watjen, commissioned this sensational 1933 Packard re-creation, sparing no expense and insisting on authenticity and quality. With exacting proportions and proper 136" wheelbase, the car is virtually indistinguishable from an original on sight. It features all stainless and chrome brightwork, fully disappearing convertible roadster top, dual side mounted spares, authentic 9" Solar headlamps and original 8" Packard driving lights. Gleaming 16" wire wheels wearing BFGoodrich Silvertown wide white wall tires, hand finished leather upholstery, custom fitted luggage trunk, side accessed golf club compartment, solid oak interior trim and countless other details that delight the senses. It is only from behind the wheel that one will notice that this is, in fact, a more modern car with subtleties like fully integrated air conditioning, cruise control, power window lifts, electrically operated rumble seat, improved performance from a more powerful 340hp engine, automatic transmission, power assisted brakes and steering, custom springs and heavy duty gas shocks. This car drives superb and is even titled as a 1933 Packard.
