Lot #965 - 1947 was the final year for the classic pontoon body Cadillacs and is the last model year for with any Cadillac is deemed "Full Classic" by the Classic Car Club of America. Along with subtle styling updates, 1947 is additionally notable as it marked the introduction of the now famous Sombrero hubcaps, while under the hood the 346cid L-head V8 was upgraded by the factory with hydraulic lifters and hardened ball seats for vastly improved reliability. Also, the top-line 62 convertibles and Series 75 got standard Hydro-lectric power windows. This rare Series 62 convertible is a high quality restoration finished in 1999, redone in its original Madeira Maroon Iridescent over red leather with beige softtop. It is equipped with the optional Hydra-Matic transmission and dual safety spot lights to go along with standard leather upholstery, AM radio, clock, power seat and hydraulically operated softtop and windows. It drives excellent, easily cruising with todays modern high speed traffic. All of the hydraulic systems work great and even the original tube AM radio works. Included with the purchase are photos and information about the car, an original shop manual, the original jack and original spare with an extra hubcap.
