Lot #373 - This Mercury convertible is the ultimate Street Rod. It was restored from a very solid and very straight car. With modern suspension it is a great driving car. The engine started with a 460cid Lincoln and an Eagle forged stoker crank was added to make it a 522cid with forged Eagle rods and J&E pistons with 10:1 compression. It has a full race custom Comp Cam and ported Edelbrock aluminum heads. It also has a polished Edelbrock intake manifold with a Holley 1050cfm carburetor and custom chrome air cleaner. 2" stainless steel headers and 3" side outlet exhaust. Chrome Ford Racing valve covers, March serpentine belt system, chrome pulleys, 100amp alternator, chrome Edelbrock water pump, chrome air conditioning compressor, power steering and chrome oil pan. Custom built triple flow horizontal radiator. It has an engine driven fan and an electric pusher fan and a third fan for when the air conditioning is on. All this got 650hp on the dyno. The engine is coupled to a modified Ford C6 transmission with a 2,400rpm torque converter and chrome driveshaft connected to a fully chromed Corvette C3 independent suspension with 3.08 gears. The front suspension is fully chromed Camaro with Camaro power steering controlled by a chrome Flaming River tilt steering column with polished wood steering wheel. It has 4-wheel power disc brakes with a Hydro Boost power system that works off the power steering pump. It has Jaguar type true knock-off wheels. Has a hydraulic power top with Hartz cloth, late GM power windows, power seats, Sanden air conditioning and heater, shaved trunk lid with tasteful pin stripping, shaved hood with 136 louvers in eight rows and tasteful pin stripping with ghost flames, JVC 10 speaker stereo with CD player, chromed window and gauge moldings, VDO gauges, period style vinyl tuck and roll upholstery, front bucket seats and electric windshield wipers. The paint is Corvette Torch Red.
