Lot #1231 - This Allard K2 Roadster is a very rare example; between 1950 and 1952 only 119 were produced. K2's came with various engines most being the 100hp Ford 3.6 liter Flathead V8 while this was built with the 'modern' postwar 150hp Cadillac 331 CI OHV V-8 engine and 3 speed transmission. It also has stock wheels with the very difficult to find original Allard hub caps and an even rarer 1950 Offenhauser manifold.
It has been featured in a hardbound book of rare Classic Sports Cars, (included in the sale of the car).
The latest owner purchased this Allard in 1997 from a family in Southern California who had purportedly owned it the previous 20 years. Since then, the paint is fresh, the body is straight as you'll find and the interior was also freshly updated. The machined dash is in uniquely original condition right down to the gauges and has rarely seen, but highly prized, Saint Christopher medallion riveted to the dash.
The engine runs like a clock, drives great - like an Allard. For someone wanting to Vintage race, you're ready. It's also a great car for any collector as genuine piece of automobile history.
