Description
Lot #1231 - The most popular post-war Mercury's are the 1949 through 1951 models, with the 1951 enjoying almost "cult-like" status. The 1951 convertible production was only 6,625 cars and the survival rate is very low with less than 40 known survivors. This 1951 Mercury Convertible was impeccably restored by Glenn Shaffer in a high dollar body-off restoration. It received 1000 points, a perfect score at the early Ford V8 Club of America National Meet in Whistler Mountain, BC. This car features the 255 cubic inch flathead V8, 112 horsepower, the new for 1951 Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission, power windows, power seats and power convertible top. Vassar Yellow with Black convertible top and Red and Black leather interior.
