Lot #1259 - Ford Racing built a killer project to pay tribute to 55 years of F-Series trucking. However, this isn's just a nicely restored '53 F-100. It was built from the ground up and features Ford Racing's 5.0 Liter Cammer crate motor. Built to commemorate its 50th anniversary, this thundering 1953 FR100 is the result of a collaboration between Ford Racing Technology and McLaren Performance. Extensive body modifications were incorporated to preserve the look and feel of the original truck while utilizing Ford Racing's hot 5.0L Cammer crate engine along with an impressive list of performance updates. Even though every major panel except the hood and doors was extensively altered, including extending the cab 6" and shortening the bed, the finished piece reflects the harmony of shape and style instilled by Ford designers half a century ago. Backing the Cammer engine are custom headers and a dual exhaust system with two catalysts, a Cobra radiator, a Tremec T56 6-speed manual with a prototype Ford Racing/Centerforce clutch and a custom aluminum-metal matrix driveshaft. Brembo disc brakes were added at each corner to stop the Goodyear F1 Supercar tires mounted on 18" BBS wheels. Traditional appearance with state-of-the-art technology. Refabrication fully documented with complete build sheets and photos. Has been in numerous publications and is in concours condition. No expense was spared in the building of this incredibly rare, one-of-a-kind classic truck.
